The Shard, Service Area, Stainer Street.
BackWe received instruction to carry out a hoarding installation to The Shard, service area, accessed via Stainer Street, which has a lot of commuters making their way along it daily.
The work involved the team were on site from 22.00 hours each evening until the early hours of the next morning.
The installation was free-standing on timber boxes filled with sand and additional bracing from the boxes to the hoarding was also employed on this particular project.
We prepared boxes and painted ply and trim off site prior to commencement to preserve the flooring out the work area.
The first evening saw the structure taking shape and the work areas was closed off to the public once the team had finished for that shift.
Night 1
Progress on night 2 was good, with most of the structure complete, ready for the trim to be applied.
Following that the anti-climb rollers and bird deterrent netting will be installed.
Night 2
Night 3 saw the completion of the project, with the trim, anti-climb rollers, bird deterrent netting, and corner protection guards (in case anyone should walk into the hoarding) all installed.
Client was very happy with finished project, and the area secured ready for replacement ventilation system work to proceed.
